The Walkers

We are two more or less middle-aged walkers who decided that casual walking with the occassional challenge was a good idea to help with the inevitable weight problem and entropy from loafing about doing nothing.  I am almost retired - hanging on to my job at present because I like it - and like the idea of going exploriong around Kent and Sussex at least one day each week.  My sister who is a golf widow on Saturdays wanted to go walking and like me needed the company to make it imteresting so we teamed up and started to visit places almost willy-nilly on a whim.   As a result we have seen some interesting places; learned much about our county; had some interesting encounters with local people and seen a lot of beautiful scenery.  We have also seen the insides of some most welcoming pubs and Inns.

In our own modest way we would like to share some of those experiences with you.

Lynsted - Kent Daphne with our friend Bob Collins.

We took the opportunity during a break in activities to take a walk around the village of Lynsted - Bob and myself were there to show paintings in the Church during the Cantiana Festival.

Taking a swing at Marle Place - spring 2009

Marle Place in Kent not far from Horsmenden and Brenchley is one of those wonderful gardens on the Weald.  We chose the place on a whim and discovered a treasure.
